DIANA MEDINA

Diana Medina is a senior teacher of the Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT) staff since 1999. Diana has taught modules and led workshops independently in Colorado, New Mexico, New York and India, as well as working closely with Stan Grof and Tav Sparks at training modules in the U.S., Spain, Ireland, England, South America and Mexico.

The GTT is the gold standard for training psychedelic guides and its methodology has been adopted by: the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) for their MDMA Phase 1, 2, and 3 studies, by the USONA Institute that is conducting studies using psilocybin, and by the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) at their Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research.

  • Diana began her personal breathwork journey in 1993 and was certified in 1998. She lives in a high altitude mountain farming community in southern Colorado and it was in this community she grew up surrounded by a large family deeply embedded in the importance of nature, community and spirituality.

The trainings that Diana leads are considered the gold standard for training psychedeleic and holotropic guides. She is a sought after trainer and consultant who has the special ability to train others how to hold space in psychedelic sessions.

Diana has practiced medicine in the specialties of pediatrics and family practice for over 20 years. Recently she has began practicing craniosacral therapy as an adjunct to her interest in holistic healing practices.

Diana Medina speaks to the model of holding space in a non-interventive manner. The Grof Holotropic Training established the "gold standard" for training psychedelic "sitters".   This model of facilitation has been adopted by MAPS for their MDMA Trials, was codified by the State of Oregon for mushrooms sessions,  and used in the Compass Pathways psilocybin sitter protocols. The non-interventive protocol is the methodology most commonly used in research studies.

Diana presents us with a client-centric approach that deeply honors the client's wisdom and healing intelligence. She explains the function of the sitter and explains  why this methodology requires training and practice to do it well.
